2001-06-21 - 2:33 p.m. coming out yet? my dearest sweet pea-- i know you might be a little intimidated about the prospect of changing environments, but you should be assured that your dad and i will do everything possible to keep you safe once you make your "transition" to the outside world. are you a little scared? i would be too--all of that space to deal with--and the concept of time too. yesterday was the first of your "due dates"--and my birthday. i woke up a little late and had breakfast with your Nana and just sort of hung out around the house. Then we went to go see our midwife--you hadn't changed position much. We are still at -1, but who knows? my feet are still swollen, so i am supposed to keep them elevated. i decided to take maternity leave, beginning yesterday too. i realized that i hadn't had a vacation in about 3 years, and am actually feeling a bit worn down in general. that would not be a good way to go into labor, don't you think? anyway, your nana and i have just been working around the house. she is taking good care of me, so hopefully everything rubs off on you. thank you for the palm pilot, by the way. i've already put lots of addresses in it, and am using it a lot better to keep track of what i need to do. a big kiss for you and your dad. hope to see you very, very soon. love, mum
