2004-11-26 - 3:13 p.m. a lot a lot a lot dearest Q: four days ago, you asked me if i was going to take you to school "a lot a lot a lot." i smiled at you, and said "yes." then, i hugged you tightly. a month ago, if you would have asked me that same question, the best that i could have probably managed was "i don't know, sweetie-i'll try to take you as much as i can." what has changed, however, is the fact that i have gotten a wonderful job 10 minutes away from where we live. i can take you to school and be at work before nine in the morning. if things are not too busy, i can also pick you up. i'm pretty sure that i will be less stressed, so that will also help us too. sometimes i wish you could understand that if your father and i are short with you, it's because our patience wears very thin at work. however, i think i will have some left over for you, who will need it the most as we journey through these upcoming few years. you are quite the little learner, and sometimes i feel like i'm not ready for it. because you are in a Montessori classroom, you are with kids that are your age up to five, and you learn lots of "little boy" things-about guns, about power rangers, about "bad guys." and i am not really sure i am ready to deal with those types of things, but i will do my best to try and not make things too confusing for you. i look at you and you're so big. how on earth did you get so big?
