2001-09-19 - 9:03 p.m. 12 weeks you are twelve weeks old as of today. every wednesday is a little celebration in my mind because it marks yet another week that you've spent with us. you always have something new for us every week, and almost every day. you have managed to learn a lot of things in the past twelve weeks. shortly after you were born, you started looking around at things, and seemed to enjoy your mobile. you started articulating sounds at around 4 weeks. at six weeks, you learned how to smile, and these past two weeks you are learning to control your hands. you prefer to sit up and look around and take the world in to lying down, although you enjoy batting and grabbing at things. we have fun on Sunday evenings when we play and do laundry. you think eating popcorn is funny, and you like it when people whistle and make airplane noises. sometimes i miss the times when you were really little. i often look at pictures of you as a newborn and can't believe how much you've grown. you have gained five whole pounds since birth and now weigh 12 pounds and over 3.5 ounces!! thank you for being here, sweetheart. i love you. love, mom
